Next in line in this “unknown” prospect article series is outfielder Brandon Marsh. Marsh is the second Angel prospect I have covered so far. Their farm system is much more robust then it seems on the service. Marsh was drafted in the second round of the 2016 draft and played his first year in Rookie ball in 2017.
His stat line for the Orem Owlz in the pioneer league are eye catching. Marsh hit four home runs with thirty-nine RBI in 34 games. His slash line was .366/.410/.569 with eight stolen bases.
Obviously, when it comes to speed/power combo, fantasy owners need to take notice and that’s what we have here with Brandon Marsh. Very similar in fact to Jahmai Jones, who I have already written on. Marsh is only nineteen years old and is just in Rookie Ball, so he still has a couple years to go in the minors, but if his contact rate continues as he moves up, he could crack the top 100 easily sometime during his minor league career. As he continues up the ladder, he could be a 20/20 guy eventually.
